Republican MELTDOWN After Ted Cruz Refuses To Endorse Trump

Ted Cruz didn’t endorse the Republican nominee Donald Trump during his recent RNC speech. The reaction of the party has been furious. Cenk Uygur, Ben Mankiewicz (What The Flick?), and John Iadarola (ThinkTank), and Michael Shure, hosts of The Young Turks, break it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.

“Ted Cruz did not endorse Donald Trump in his much-anticipated speech to the Republican National Convention on Wednesday, instead urging Republicans to vote their conscience — to anguished reactions from Trump supporters in the room.

Cruz’s speech stole the show on what was intended to be a big night for the vice presidential nominee, Mike Pence — and it led to waves of fallout as the night went on, with Cruz being accosted by a state party chair and turned away from a powerful donor’s box in the arena.

“And to those listening, please, don’t stay home in November,” the prepared text of Cruz’s speech read. “Stand, and speak, and vote your conscience, vote for candidates up and down the ticket who you trust to defend our freedom and to be faithful to the Constitution.”
Cruz only mentioned Trump by name once in his speech, saying at the beginning, “I congratulate Donald Trump on winning the nomination last night.””*

I'm so glad that Cruz has endorsed Trump, late but I'm a Texan and would have supported Cruz if Trump wouldn't have won and I think Cruz is a big person to step up

Ted Cruz is finished for this Country. He would have to go to Cuba, maybe Castro will have him.

I guess i'm not surprised these guys tore Cruz apart for standing up to Trump, but it makes me think Republicans would sell their own mothers for a pack of gum if they thought it would curry favor with whomever's the most popular in the party.

at least Cruz was honest, most of these "endorsements" that come out of either party are just playing ball-type bullshit that these guys do to further their own careers within their parties/not piss off potential campaign donors

Ted, that was a career decision and you took the wrong path. Well, at least you showed your true colors before it was too late.

These pro Trump republicans need to shut up! Ted Cruz is more republican than any of those assholes who blow Donald Trump. I wish Ted Cruz was the nominee. He has backbone unlike the rest of them.

Ted is going to be the smuggest motherfucker come November. I'd never vote for the man, but damn.

It was not a great rebuttal at all…there is NO rebuttal for Turd Cruz… he may be ignorant enough to believe he has a future, but he certainly does not…you have to keep in mind that Cruz is NOT likeable. As much as I despise Regan and G W Bush…they did have likeable personality traits. That is essential, although this election has certainly set a new low for those traits. Other candidates will come along who are far more likeable, but with the changing demographic in this country and the fact that many of the republican GOP base are up there in years, just do the math. It will not matter for much longer. This clown is finished and the GOP is likely to go with him.
The death of judge Scalia is a wonderful event. My chess club friends and I actually drank a toast when Scalia kicked the bucket.
That ruined the scum GOP. Their ideas of cheating by using voter ID laws died with Scalia.
A distasteful character like Turd Cruz will find 4 and 8 years in the future, to be even more inhospitable to his kind.

Ted Cruz has more integrity in his pinky than any of these jokers altogether!!! He's the only one who has stood his ground regardless of popularity! Who in their right mind would say that voting your conscience is a bad thing? I couldn't be more proud to stand behind Cruz!!

…and that was the first time I thought "way to go Ted". I may disagree with 99 percent of everything out of his mouth, but I will give him credit for not kissing up to the schmuck who insulted his wife and father.

Look at the way Cenk Uygur uses this video to ensure that if Trump would be a failed candidate, in 2020, Ted Cruz( who can be a possible nominee) can't get nomination, tilting the balance to the left-smart move, wonder it will play out well for liberals in 2020

RAT FACED PAUL RYAN , REPTILIAN MITCH MCCONNELL and the rest of the VERMIN in the REPUBLICAN PARTY have a serious problem…They are supposed to be the party of FAMILY VALUES and high moral standards.  What are they doing supporting TRUMP?
